From my limited perspective I cannot make out any pluses or benefits of using xvid over nandub and divx3.11. Please let me know what the benefits are to you and why you prefer either divx3.11 with nandub or xvid with um anything. And why is it no intelligent lifeform of anysort will grace my posts with a reply (*sniffs armpits*) I am not scum or un-cool am I ? :eek: :confused:

hi well im not an expert but i like xvid because: 1) it's free and not so illegal 2) the result doesn't look as blocky IMHO 3) it's got a future, and people here to help you out for no other reason than they enjoy it.

8) dosent require as much tweaking as DivX 3.11, but isnt as bare-bones simple as DivX 5 9) newer stuff is usually cooler when it comes to technology :cool: 10) it just rocks because the people here on the org created and deveoped it

13) The only real alternative is DivX5, and when did you last see one of the main developers at DXN listening to the woes of the DivX5 users? Isibaar was looking thru the forum only yesterday & reacting to the posts here.
