Looking to have all my window's tinted soon except obviously the winderscreen but having a big problem finding someone in nottingham that will do a full tint as all of a sudden all the companies are now law abiding and refuse to tint the front driver and front passenger, anyone know of a company or anyone that would do this and do a cracking job of it? Thanks

Hi, ANY tint forward of the "B" pillar is likely to be illegal unless it is clear or UV only. Trying to get someone (or doing it yourself) will only lead to, as mentioned above, the local constabulary taking a particular interest in you and your car. Unless you can peel the tint (should you be stupid enough to fit it) from the front passenger windows (those forward of the "B" pillar) they WILL impound the car, and you'll be walking... As said - Worth it? Add to that, with such a tint you are putting other road users at risk as you can't see them properly. Des. . . ;)

Sorry to hijack this thread... One of My friends owns a T4 (he is a member of the VOC so I will get him to read this). His car was tinted by Volvo in 1999 and was a demo car. Every window has the same tint except for the windscreen which just has the usual Volvo see-through blue sun strip across the top. The tint is not particularly dark, but every window has been done! Is this road legal? Any advice would be much appreciated. Kerry

Probably not, there needs to be at least 70% light transmittance on the front 3 windows (doors, wind screen)

AFAIK the only legal tint for the drivers and pass windows is what the factory supply, which is virtually unnoticable. Did volvo tint it or the dealer?

Guys you also have to bear in mind that most windows now have a slight tint in them already (green) so even adding a tint that allows more than the prescribed limit could put you over the edge. my new R has tints on the fronts, they will be coming off. as a cop i would not stop someone just for having dark tints.. but lots of drivers (not all) with them are usually doing something more stupid and that warrants a tug. be aware tho, not every cop is as loving and caring as me:heart:.. and they will stick you on:broken_heart:
