You might be able to get the bundle from Waves with the new waveshell on it. You'll need the Native Pack. I don't think you'll find it anywhere else without having to download it though. It will take some time to get out there. [This message has been edited by rwest (edited February 09, 2000).]
Slink Relax..if you buy the plugins after Jan 1 (now), you get the RTAS waveshell free. You just need to provide them with a copy of your receipt and they will email you the waveshell for PT/LE. I think you'll have to get an imate from Waves as well (also free) if you have a G4. This is for their dongle key (what they use for copy protection).
I talked to the Waves sales people (when I downloaded mine and worked through the installation procedure). They assured me that anyone who buys a Waves package today will not have to spend the extra $150 for the RTAS Waveshell. That was only for existing users to upgrade to the RTAS shell. I don't know the logistics of how they are currently doing that, however. They just said the RTAS shell would be included in any new purchase (you may still have to download it). Waves is one of the few (maybe only?) companies that allows you to buy one plug-in format such as VST, and just download the MAS, or Premier version of the same package at no charge. Most other companies that I'm aware of at least charge a small "cross-platform" fee. They have also upgraded me from version 1.0 to version 2.8.1 at no charge (over a 3 year period). I like these guys...so I didn't mind giving them $150 for the RTAS upgrade. Besides, they make great-sounding stuff. ------------------ LW
The 2.8.1 plug-ins used with the RTAS Waveshell 2.9 is what I'm using with LE, and Waveshell TDM 2.8.1 for my MIX system. I believe this is where Waves is at currently. ------------------ Bruce Paine eMarketing

Wait, somebody please clear this up... I have heard two stories hear and elsewhere: 1) that you need the NATIVE versions of the plug-ins to use with the RTAS waveshell 2) that you need the TDM versions to use with the waveshell- so which is it: Native (NPP I/II) or TDM? TDM is more expensive, so I hope it's the Native.... somebody please clarify plain and simple. Thanks!
LW is correct. You use the 2.8.1 TDM versions of the plug-ins which can be downloaded from the Waves site. You need the 2.9 RTAS Waveshell and the proper authorizations on your Waves Dongle. Buying the Native versions of the Waves plug-ins now will entitle you to the correct authorizations and Waveshell to run RTAS plug-ins, but not in TDM without purchasing the TDM versions. The TDM versions do include all of the Native versions as well if they have a native equivalent. I move my Waves dongle from a MIXplus system at work to a different CPU at home with a 001. The same dongle (which is authorized for TDM) allows me to use TDM versions on the MIX system, and RTAS versions on the 001. If I just owned the Native version, I would not be able to use the TDM plug-ins, just the RTAS, Audiosuite, MAS, VST, and Premier versions. ------------------ Bruce Paine eMarketing
