Fitted a nice turbo gauge, but where does the pipe go? I take it goes to a spare blanking plug on the inlet manifold. Just thought id check first! Oh yes... the pipe. Havent got any, any good stockists about?

Hi Tim, Yes, it goes into the inlet manifold. There is a brass blank/plug that is fitted to the manifold of LPT engines instead of the pipe connector that is fitted to the HPT models. I have used a length of new fuel injection hose. FI typically runs at 30+psi so it'll take 15psi no probs ;) Its also fuel, oil and heat resistant of course.

Ok thats great, ive got a spare "nipple" that I can replace the blank with. Only problem now is I need the other end, the part that screws onto the gauge itself. On the instructions to the gauge it says its a 1/8"-27 NPTF. Ashamed to say I dont know what that is! As soon as I get my camera working on my new computer ill post some pics. Ive mounted the gauge inside the 2 spare slots for switches next to the dashboard dimmer control and heated wingmirror / rear window switches. Bit of a tight squeeze but doesnt look bad and as its a removable panel it can be returned to standard at any time. Ive bought a couple of switch panels from scrap yards so I can experiment with cutting for the best fit. If the car had a sunroof then there wouldnt be enough room for the gauge there due to the extra switch. Lucky really!
